The works in the series Films from the Golden Age are a series of editions from experimental films that I produce from found footage and which retrace the history of 20th century cinema. My reading of this story is based on a scan of known or lesser known films, auteur films, forgotten blockbusters or B films and whose common denominator is the theme of collapse.
In Films from the Golden Age, the image-in-image process and its mise en abyme draw a mirrored retrospective, a place of an eternal present where fears, paranoia and the obsessions which the cinema seizes indefinitely to create fascination or catharsis.
