The Urban Adornments series consists of diversions of construction elements, mainly ducts and ventilation ducts which are usually hidden in the structure of buildings or behind false ceilings. They become the links and pendants of jewelry on an urban scale, emancipate themselves from their original functions which is to convey or extract water or air and acquire here a new status, a social promotion. The intention is to compose and assemble existing, functional elements, coming from an industrial or office universe, to transform them into useless ornaments, which represent a certain idleness. The architectural elements, details, growths, on the facade or inside, become exhibition supports. They pass on the front of the stage, fit into a new story. If the architect Renzo Piano placed them on the facade in the Pompidou Center project, here they become simple ornaments devoid of function, which embrace, reveal, play with the architecture, the elements of a building, breaking the monotony , come to contrast or accentuate the architectural styles.
