“The cookbook of the 64th Salon de Montrouge”

“The cookbook of the 64th Salon de Montrouge”, 2019. 34 recipes by 28 artists from the Salon published in 50 numbered and signed copies, 22×16.5 cm, 106 pages.

“On Tuesday January 22, 2019, exactly at lunchtime, Marie Glaize wrote a group message to around fifty recipients: “. I suggest you send me your favorite cooking recipes by email. We could then meet to cook them together and share a good dinner!”. It is aimed at artists selected, like her, for the Salon de Montrouge. Quickly, the answers flowed in, carefully collected by the young woman for her Cookbook of the 64th Salon de Montrouge, a work that today we can leaf through quietly, seated at the back of the large exhibition hall at the Belfry. There are listed the exchanges of messages, the photographs of the meals, and of course, the recipes. A few are real (Japanese curry, broccoli pesto, eggplant fatteh with lamb) and reflect the diversity of cultures that nurtured these entertaining dinners. Others are ironic (pasta nothing), some inhabited by melancholy… Collective, this work with a sympathetic protocol tells the richness of the encounter with the Other.
