“Sol, memory, imprint”, 2017. Paper and charcoal, 480 x 150 cm.
The drawing Soil, memory, footprint was made during a residency in the mining town of Valenciennes. On the floor of the workshop I blackened with charcoal a roll of paper about 3.50m. This repeated gesture has damaged, marked the surface of the paper. More than a rubbing, it was about taking the memory of a place.
