The Limbu or Yakthung are an indigenous tribe of the Himalayan region of eastern Nepal.

This is the indigenous group from which I come.
The Limbu language, also known as Sirijunga or Kirati, is a Sino-Tibetan language.
Sino-Tibetan.
I never learned the Limbu language. My paternal grandparents spoke it and my father too, but we were never taught it.
Historically, it is also because of the cultural nationalism movement in which printed publications in minority scriptures were banned in Nepal.
In this series you can see the limbu alphabets on the canvas.
Viewers just see them as squiggles or patterns and…
Unfortunately, right now it’s just a scribble and a pattern for me too.
