“24 septembre”

“September 24”. Exhibition book MIVILLE. 18x18cm.

This date is that of a birth. The 24th of September is therefore the beginning of a story. That of her daughter, yes, but also that of a symbiotic relationship, of an unbreakable bond. How to tell this story on canvas? How to translate the laughter, the conversations, the anxieties, the fears, all the upheaval that life with a child entails?

How to depict these fragile moments, these life lines that bend, that intersect, where all our vulnerabilities are exposed? Miville seeks to transcribe, in pictorial strokes of his own invention, snippets of this unique relationship. His line is that of a love cardiogram.

Her colors are strong and soft at the same time. Simplicity and movement make his paintings a kind of visual poetry. More broadly, it is to the organic link that unites us all that Miville invites us. Doesn’t the spectacle of motherhood contain in itself all the wisdom of all the libraries in the world?
