“Orange, red instability”

“Orange, red instability”, 2020. Fine Art print on paper, anti-reflective glass, wooden frame, 30 x 30 cm. Edition of 3 copies + 2EA. ©adagp

Instability is made up of frames whose spatial ordering leads to a different perception of this reality. The purpose of this research was to develop a graphical algorithm conducive to displaying visual figures.
The dimensions and ordering of the optical surface lead our visual system to create patterns built by our brain.

The experience gives a glimpse of graphic forms that emerge and evolve during the observation time. The points that exist pass to the background of our attention to highlight the figures that are built in the white areas of the paper, or in the empty areas, a reversal takes place.

This series is the result of ongoing research work; in collaboration with Dr. Laurent Perrinet, neuro-scientific researcher, AMU/CNRS / INT, Institute of Neurosciences of Timone.
