“Marine turtle versus single-use plastic”

Oil on canvas 120 cm /100 cm – 2021

Confusing plastic bags with the jellyfish that are part of its diet, the turtle suffocates. The plastic stems of old cotton buds that float on the ocean surface violently enter the nostrils of the turtle that comes to breathe on the surface, and stay there. When they are too old, fishermen throw back into the ocean the plaited netting of plastic fibers that will take over 200 years to degrade when they do not trap cetaceans that accidentally get caught in them.
