From the series “Quest are Sometimes Disappointing”, made in the forest of Provence, this photograph evokes both a still life and the clue to a police investigation. The gloves, found a few metres from a path, are a mystery. Why are they covered in blue paint? Do they show a direction? Is the bed of moss a hidden map? Perhaps this composition is a re-enactment of a work by a great master painter.
