“Headdress Mirror”

Wall mounting. Copper-tinted mirror, blown stained glass, low-voltage LED light system, metal box for wall-mounted electrical connection. Made entirely by hand in Paris.

Dimensions 64 x 90 cm, thickness 4 cm. Estimated weight: 6 kg. Installation applied to the wall, by screws, without visible cable, 2 electrical wires on standby.

The project is part of an approach to promote the know-how of the stained glass artist of the Saint-Didier workshop. It is based on a fine analysis of the profession of cold glassmaker to propose a rereading of the material.
The design of objects was born from a simple formal exercise: representing the movement of a fabric around the round shape of a mirror. The result is pleats, curls, scrolls, fabrics carried by the wind, knotted scarves or nuns’ headdresses.
