“Gyné”
Gyné means woman in ancient Greek. In botany, it is also the name given to the pistil, i.e. the feminine part of the flower.
Directly inspired by the uninhibited female silhouette, Gyné emphasizes curves and curves, bringing emotion and poetry. Thought between design and sculpture, the pearls that make it up are a true hymn to femininity.
From childhood, the cross-legged sitting position was, in my opinion, the most suitable for my body. Nevertheless, the current Western society submits to have a position at 90°, feet on the ground. After having led a reflection on the body posture and the awareness that one can have of one’s own body, Gyné was born.
Due to its lightness instability, Gyné is similar to the soft gym positions used in particular in yoga or Pilate practices, and is almost oriented towards a “therapeutic design”.
By sitting between the beads, the first feeling is to position your back straight, to align your spine, and thus to become aware of your body.
Gyné was also born from an intimate collaboration between designer and craftsmen.
Made by upholsterers based in Paris (France), the technical challenge of the eight spheres was preceded by a long search for patronage, and sheathing with invisible seams. Gyne is positioned in an eco-responsible approach by highlighting French craftsmanship and its rich know-how.
