Simkins Patrick
Patrick Simkins, né à Londres en 1986, est un artiste anglo-irlandais vivant à Paris depuis 2015.
Il se spécialise dans la peinture, le collage et la performance interactive.
Patrick s'intéresse à la représentation de la fragilité humaine dans le monde réel et virtuel.
Il l’exprime au travers d’images réarrangées en créant des scènes de fiction où la technique du collage sert à représenter notre fragilité.
Le modèle de destruction et de renouvellement est intrinsèque au processus de Patrick.
Il utilise parfois “l’upcycling” de ses propres œuvres comme matériel à l’élaboration de nouveaux projets.
En tant que peintre, Patrick a présenté des expositions et fait partie des collections au Royaume-Uni, en France, en Allemagne et aux États-Unis.
Patrick a également joué ses performances interactives à l’international, notamment au théâtre Lyric, Hammersmith et au Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille, en France.
Patrick est formé en Beaux-arts et illustration à l'Université de Coventry en Angleterre et par correspondance de l’école de peinture Turps Banana.
Il est le fondateur de BAF BAF (Back and Forth, Britain and France), un collectif né en réaction au Brexit. BAF BAF a pour vocation de promouvoir la collaboration culturelle intercontinental entre l’Angleterre et la France.

Patrick is interested in the representation of human fragility in the real and virtual world.
He expresses it through rearranged images by creating fictional scenes where the collage technique is used to represent our fragility.

As a painter, Patrick has presented exhibitions and is part of the collections in the UK, France, Germany and the US.

Patrick was educated in Fine Art and Illustration at Coventry University in England and by correspondence from Turps Banana School of Painting.
