Sidere Darta
Darta Sidere est une artiste lettonne, qui vit et travaille à Paris. Elle a fait des études en arts plastiques à l’Université Rennes 2, à l’Académie de Beaux-Arts de Brera à Milan et à l’École nationale supérieure de Beaux-Arts de Paris.
Elle a participé aux expositions : L‘eau et les rêves au Palais des Beaux-Arts, tesselles//pixels au Musée du Louvre, The Whole and the Part à Tokyo dans le cadre de festival Suki, Approche de la déambulation à Rennes dans le cadre de Biennale OFF et d’autres.
Ses recherches artistiques sont orientées vers la tactilité.́ Actuellement, elle travaille sur l’idée de ce que pourrait être un espace du toucher. La physicalité, qui se fonde dans le temps et l’espace. En face du progrès « sans contact », elle cherche à déployer une pratique plutôt tactile en sens de toucher et sentir la matière.
Darta utilise la pierre comme la matière de prédilection, qui selon elle est un des matériaux, qui impose le poids et la présence par soi-même. Ce qu’elle intéresse est ensuite de changer la perception, tout en gardant ses caractéristiques. Il s’agit d’un travail d’immersion dans la matière avec le rapprochement pour aller vers l’informe.

Darta Sidere is a Latvian artist, who lives and works in Paris. She studied visual arts at Rennes 2 University, at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris.
She has participated in the exhibitions: Water and Dreams at the Palais des Beaux-Arts, tessera // pixels at the Louvre Museum, The Whole and the Part in Tokyo as part of the Suki festival, Approach to strolling in Rennes in the framework of Biennale OFF and others.
Her artistic research is oriented towards tactility. Currently, she is working on the idea of what a space of touch could be. Physicality, which is grounded in time and space. Faced with "contactless" progress, she seeks to deploy a rather tactile practice in the sense of touching and feeling the material. Darta uses stone as the material of choice, which according to her is one of the materials, which imposes weight and presence by itself. What she interests then is to change the perception, while keeping its characteristics. It is about a work of immersion in matter with the rapprochement to go towards the shapeless.
