Kowalczyk Izabela
Izabela Kowalczyk est une artiste franco-polonaise qui vit et travaille à Marseille.
Née en 1975, elle a grandi en Pologne, où en 2002 elle a obtenu un Master en Arts de l'Académie des Beaux-Arts de Łòdź.
Parmis ses premières influences - les constructivistes des années 30 comme Katarzyna Kobro, Władyslaw Strzemiński, Kasimir Malevitch, mais aussi des groupes The Stijl et Bauhaus - jouaient un rôle important.
Sa fascination précoce pour le travail d'Elsworth Kelly, Sol Le Witt, Frank Stella ou encore David Tremlett annonçait déjà son future investissement dans le questionnement sur la nature de l'espace et sa perception.
Une résidence de quelques semaines à l'Ecole d'Art à Stuttgart en Allemagne en 2000, puis un séjour de quelques mois à Londres en 2001 lui ont permis de découvrir, entre autres, l'oeuvre d'Eduardo Chillida et de Tony Cragg.
En 2002 Izabela était boursière du Gouvernement Français, ce qui lui a permis de continuer ses études à l'Ecole d'Art d'Aix-en-Provence et obtenir le diplôme DNSEP en 2005.
Elle a exposé notamment à Cello Factory, Londres ; Galerie La Ferronnerie, Paris, Transmitter Gallery, New York, Musée Regards de Provence, Marseille, Mia art Gallery, Wroclaw, New B Gallery, Shanghai.
En 2017 finaliste de AESTHETICA ART PRICE, son œuvre Sans titre 56 est publié dans l’anthologie FUTURE NOW : 100 Contemporary Artists, Aesthetica Magazine.
Izabela Kowalczyk is a Franco-Polish artist who lives and works in Marseille.
Born in 1975, she grew up in Poland, where in 2002 she obtained a Masters in Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łòdź.
Among his early influences - 1930s constructivists like Katarzyna Kobro, Władyslaw Strzemiński, Kasimir Malevich, but also groups The Stijl and Bauhaus - played an important role.
Her early fascination with the work of Elsworth Kelly, Sol Le Witt, Frank Stella and David Tremlett already announced his future investment in questioning the nature of space and its perception.
A residency of a few weeks at the Art School in Stuttgart, Germany in 2000, then a stay of a few months in London in 2001 allowed him to discover, among others, the work of Eduardo Chillida and Tony Cragg.
In 2002 Izabela received a grant from the French Government, which allowed her to continue her studies at the Aix-en-Provence Art School and obtain the DNSEP diploma in 2005.
