Laurent Gongora (1978) est diplômé de l'Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg et aujourd'hui résident aux ateliers du 6b à Saint-Denis.
Artiste de l'intervention, son travail se caractérise par une approche transversale entre art environnemental et détournement du réel, avec une obsession particulière pour l'univers du cabinet de curiosité.
Ce qui l'intéresse avant tout dans la sculpture, c'est sa tangibilité.
Partant du principe que l'on peut appréhender un objet d'art comme on appréhende un objet du quotidien, l'artiste délaisse le champ de la représentation pour celui de la présentation de quelque chose d'inédit, voire d'incongru dans la réalité-même.
Qu'il s'agisse de redessiner la silhouette d'une montagne, d'installer un pont semi-immergé, d'inventer une fausse nature, ou encore de disposer une chorale de coucous suisses dans un bosquet, ses interventions cristallisent différents registres visuels pour un dénominateur commun : celui de créer des expériences déroutantes car physiquement reliées au monde réel.
