Waiting for ideas
Depuis son adolescence, Jean-Baptiste Anotin créer. Il commence par expérimenter la peinture automobile en retravaillant de vieux vélos bons pour la casse. Il joue également d’objets de contre-façon, transformant ironiquement ces pièces manufacturées et calibrées en objets uniques et personnels.
À la suite d’études de marketing et d’une première expérience professionnelle dans le monde du numérique, il prend conscience que c’est la création qui l’anime : apporter de nouvelles idées, tester de nouveaux matériaux, façonner de nouvelles pièces. Waiting for Ideas est née.
Il aborde alors l’univers du textile et de la mode, à travers une collection retraçant son adolescence. L’industrie textile étant trop éphémère, il se tourne vers un autre médium : le mobilier. Une première oeuvre, intitulée No Seat Belt Required, fait référence à son histoire familiale autour de l’industrie automobile. Puis Self Reflection , qui illustre une période tumultueuse, marquée par le covid et une quête de soi.
Since his adolescence, Jean-Baptiste Anotin has been creating. He begins by experimenting with car painting by reworking old bicycles suitable for scrap. He also plays with counterfeit objects, transforming ironically these pieces manufactured and calibrated into unique and personal objects.
Following marketing studies and a first professional experience in the digital world, he realizes that it is creation that drives him: bringing new ideas, testing new materials, shaping new pieces. Waiting for Ideas was born.
He then approaches the world of textiles and fashion, through a collection retracing his adolescence. The textile industry being too ephemeral, he turned to another medium: furniture. A first work, entitled No Seat Belt Required, refers to his family history around the automotive industry. Then Self Reflection, which illustrates a tumultuous period, marked by the covid and a quest for self.
