Tycho David
David Tycho was born in Vancouver, Canada, and attended the University of British Columbia, where he studied painting under renowned Canadian artist Gordon Smith. After graduating, David moved to Asia for four years, an experience which had a deep and lasting effect on his artistic sensibilities.
Tycho had his first solo show in Vancouver in 1993, and has exhibited often and regularly ever since. Over the past three decades, David’s art has explored the genres of abstraction and representation, at times more experimental and intuitive and at other times more reflective of his surroundings. His works are inspired by subjects ranging from pristine wilderness to urban sprawl, to the people he encounters along the way. In addition to painting, Tycho also works with photography and digital media, resulting in digital composite images printed on aluminum.
David has exhibited his work in Vancouver, Toronto, Montréal, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Milan, Geneva, Brussels, Zürich, Singapore and Manila, and his paintings and digital images are collected worldwide. His art has been the subject of numerous newspaper and magazine articles, and he is often inter-viewed on radio and television.

David Tycho est né à Vancouver, au Canada, et a fréquenté l'Université de la Colombie-Britannique, où il a étudié la peinture auprès du célèbre artiste canadien Gordon Smith. Après ses études, David s'installe en Asie pendant quatre ans, une expérience qui marque profondément et durablement sa sensibilité artistique.
Tycho a eu sa première exposition solo à Vancouver en 1993 et a exposé souvent et régulièrement depuis. Au cours des trois dernières décennies, l'art de David a exploré les genres de l'abstraction et de la représentation, parfois plus expérimentaux et intuitifs et à d'autres moments plus représentatifs de son environnement. Ses œuvres s'inspirent de sujets allant de la nature vierge à l'étalement urbain, en passant par les personnes qu'il rencontre en cours de route. En plus de la peinture, Tycho travaille également avec la photographie et les médias numériques, ce qui donne des images composites numériques imprimées sur de l'aluminium.
