Elena Tsigaridou’s work is characterised by delicate observation that seeks to elicit the sensations, memories and wonder associated with our experiences and encounters. Tsigaridou has filtered her experiences into a personal and contemporary visual language. These finely rendered images provoke us to look beneath the surface in to the realm of strange alliances, symbolisms and meanings. Her work evokes the private world of personal identity and inner state. ‘My intention is to create a dialogue and a connection with the viewer. I am not concerned in giving answers but to generate questions. I like to see my works as triggers that evoke a personal emotion’.
