Vincent Tanguy développe une pratique protéiforme dans laquelle le « déluge » numérique, les effets de la mondialisation et la symbiose entre la réalité physique et les interfaces virtuelles sont transformés par sa poésie et son humour singuliers.
Il a créé récemment The Convenient Life (2019), une performance réalisée à Shanghaï en Chine, où, en poussant à l’extrême l’usage possible du smartphone et des plateformes numériques, il anticipe à sa manière la situation de confinement généralisé qui fut la nôtre.
Ses œuvres ont été présentées en France durant la 71e édition de Jeune Création, la Nuit Blanche 2020, The Wrong biennale, à la Cité Internationale des Arts, au FRAC Bretagne et à l’international au Seoul Art Space Geumcheon à Séoul, Corée du Sud et comme sélection du jury du 21e Japan Media Arts Festival de Tokyo, Japon. En 2021, il est lauréat du prix Katapult Art Fund.
Vincent Tanguy develops a mix-media art practice in which the digital deluge, effects of globalisation and the symbiosis between physical reality and virtual interfaces are transformed by his unique poetry and humour.
He recently created The Convenient Life (2019), a performance created in Shanghai, China, where, by pushing the possible use of the smartphone and digital platforms to the extreme, he anticipates the generalized quarantine imposed by the pandemic, in his own way.
His work has been presented in France at the 71st edition of Jeune Création, Nuit Blanche 2020, The Wrong Biennale, the Cité Internationale des Arts, FRAC Bretagne, as well as internationally at the Seoul Art Space Geumcheon (Seoul, South Korea) and the 21st Japan Media Arts Festival (Tokyo, Japan). In 2021, he was awarded the Katapult Art Fund Prize.
