Studio Solum Lignum
Nés tous deux fin des années 80, Anaïs Mroz et Simon Boullier partagent la même culture. Ils ont pourtant grandi dans des mondes différents et ont ainsi développés chacun une sensibilité distincte. L’un devenu ingénieur et l’autre musicienne.
L’amour du travail manuel et la poésie visuelle les pousse à se donner une chance de se réaliser et de faire ce qu’ils aiment le plus : tâtonner, imaginer, être ensemble, rêver, dessiner et ainsi donner vie à leurs idées. Très vite, la qualité de leur travail les dirige vers une nouvelle vie, diplôme d’ébénisterie en poche, ces autodidactes deviennent artisans d'art et commencent à fabriquer pour d’autres (designers et architectes).
En 2019, après une expérience enrichissante dans un atelier non loin des célèbres Puces de Saint-Ouen, ils décident de s’exiler au coeur de la Sologne afin de fabriquer l’outil de travail de leur rêve : une maison de maître, un atelier d’ébénisterie et de grands espaces sur une même propriété. L’écosystème Solum Lignum, plongé au coeur de la forêt Solognote est prêt à imaginer ses propres pièces ! Tout l'art consiste à donner une apparence vivante et charnelle à des matériaux pourtant inertes. Le défi constant du studio est de trouver l’équilibre entre l’âme et la raison afin de concevoir des œuvres habitées mais sans oublier d’y intégrer une fonction. Le mélange parfait des sensibilités respectives d’Anaïs et Simon, en constante mouvance.
Both born at the end of the 80s, Anaïs Mroz and Simon Boullier share the same culture. However, they grew up in different worlds and each of them developed a different sensitivity. One became an engineer and the other a musician.
They feel passionate about craftmanship and visual poetry, so they decide to realize themselves and do what they like the most: groping, being together, dreaming, drawing, and thus, giving life to their ideas.
The quality of their work drives them towards another life, cabinetmaking diploma in hand, these self-taught artists-designers-makers began to manufacture for others (designers and architects).
In 2019, after a rewarding experience spent in a workshop not far from the famous « Puces de Saint-Ouen », they decided to move from Paris to the countryside, more precisely in Sologne, a place where nature is still preserved, in order to build the best possible working environment from their own perspective : a mansion, a cabinetmaking workshop and wide open spaces, on the same property.
The Solum Lignum ecosystem, immersed in the heart of the Solognote forest, is ready to create its own pieces ! His work consists of giving a living and carnal appearance to inert materials. The studio's constant challenge is to find the balance between soul and reason in order to shape incarnated works but not forgetting to integrate a function. The perfect mix of the respective sensibilities of Anaïs and Simon, in constant flux.
