Silbano Chloé
Chloé Silbano fait transiter des actions au travers de différents médiums : peintures, sculptures et vidéos. Des objets sont fabriqués pour leurs utilisations particulières. Mis en scènes, ils participent de la composition des peintures. Les corps sont cadrés. Et quand le corps n’est pas là, c’est une tension qui est mise en jeu : la sculpture sous-entend l’action. Un flux, une coupe, un geste contenu.
Chloé Silbano cherche à développer des mécaniques mentales, qui partent de l’observation de l’environnant, du monde. Elle en vient à noter, relever des éléments qui nous parlent de l’inscription d’un corps dans l’espace, d’assise, d’ancrage, de contraintes, d’un rapport aux objets, au vêtement, ou de choses plus sensibles, plastiques, mais toujours en faisant une expérience particulière, via l’expérimentation d’une mise en pratique, qui passe par son propre corps ou celui emprunté des modèles.
Chloé Silbano est artiste invitée par le CNES pour 2022-2023. Elle est lauréate du Prix Yishu8 2020 et partira cette année en Chine pour une résidence de 2 mois à la Maison des Arts de Pékin ; s’en suivra une exposition personnelle.
Elle est diplômée de l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris et a participé à l’exposition des félicités au 104. Chloé Silbano a exposé chez Gr_und (Berlin) dans le cadre d’une exposition collective soutenue par le Fonds Perspektive et le Bureau des Arts Plastiques (Institut Français de Berlin) en 2019.
Chloé Silbano a eu une exposition personnelle à la Galerie Oeil Histrion l’an dernier. Elle a exposé avec Marlands en Sicile, à la Box (La Réunion), à la Galerie Bertrand Grimont (Paris), à la Fondation Fernet-Branca (Basel), à l’Approche (Bruxelles), H Gallery (Paris), à l’Ancien Musée Pierre Cardin, au Centre d’Art Contemporain de Villiers-sur-Marne, au Musée de la Chasse (Paris), à Icart (Paris), la MAL (Laon), au Centre d’Art Contemporain du 9e de Lyon, au Pavillon Vendôme durant le Printemps de l’Art Contemporain (Aix), et a réalisé des performances au Silencio (Paris) et à la Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac à l’invitation de Jeune Création (Pantin). Son atelier était à L’Orfèvrerie en 2019, puis Poush Clichy et aujourd’hui à Poush Aubervilliers.
Chloé Silbano conveys actions through different mediums: paintings, sculptures and videos. Objects are made for their particular uses. Staged, they participate in the composition of the paintings. The bodies are framed. And when the body is not there, it is a tension that is put into play: the sculpture implies the action. A flow, a cut, a contained gesture.
Chloé Silbano seeks to develop mental mechanics, which start from the observation of the environment, of the world. She comes to note, to pick out elements that speak to us of the inscription of a body in space, of seating, of anchoring, of constraints, of a relationship to objects, to clothing, or of things more sensitive, plastic, but always by having a particular experience, through the experimentation of a practical application, which passes through one's own body or that borrowed from the models.
Chloé Silbano is invited artist by CNES for 2022-2023. She is the winner of the 2020 Yishu8 Prize and will go to China this year for a 2-month residency at the Maison des Arts in Beijing; a personal exhibition will follow.
She is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and participated in the exhibition des Felités at 104.
