Senoo Sayo
Sayo Senoo est une artiste d’origine japonaise née en 1977 qui vit et travaille à Paris. Elle a étudié la phénoménologie à l’Université de Tokyo (Japon) et l’art contemporain à la Musashino Art University (Japon) et à l’Université Paris 8 (France).
En 2010, elle a bénéficié d’un atelier à la Cité Internationale des Arts de Paris.
Ses travaux ont été exposés dans des galeries, musées et centres culturels en France et à l’étranger, parmi lesquels la Maison de la Culture du Japon (Paris en 2008), la Galerie Bansard (Paris en 2010), and Lagalerie, (Paris en 2011) ou la Galerie municipale Jean-Collet (Vitry-sur-Seine en 2008).
Elle a reçu en novembre 2019, le prix Paul-Louis Weiller en sculpture, décerné par l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Paris.
Parallèlement, en 2019, Sayo Senoo a commencé un travail éditorial en vue de documenter ses travaux éphémères et ces livres d’art se sont révélés êtres des moyens de création à part entière.
Certains d’entre eux sont disponibles à la Librairie Mazarine (Paris), la Librairie Yvon Lambert (Paris) et 本 \hon\books (Paris). La publication « Lands that shed tears » (2019) est nominée dans la sort-list de l’International Cornish Family Prize for Art and Design Publishing de la National Gallery of Victoria (Melbourne, Australie).
