Sénatus Reginald
REDJI (Reginald Sénatus), né en 1994, grandit dans un quartier du centre-ville de Port-au-Prince (Haïti), à proximité des artistes et ébénistes de la Grand-Rue. En 2010, il rejoint Atis Rezistans, une communauté d’artistes spécialisés dans la sculpture de récupération.
Depuis 2011, Redji participe à plusieurs éditions de la Ghetto Biennale de Port-au-Prince.
Lors de l’édition de 2017, il présente une installation intitulée ‘’Cartographie de Port-au-Prince ‘’ et dresse un état des lieux des difficultés socio-économiques de la population. Il remporte le premier prix de la biennale, et aussi celui de 2019 avec une nouvelle installation artistique intitulée ‘’ Murs et Portes de Vertières ‘’.
Depuis 2016, il fréquente le Centre d’Art d’Haïti et a déjà participé à plusieurs ateliers de création et de formation en techniques artistiques mené par des artistes reconnus comme Mario BENJAMIN, Frantz Zéphirin, etc.
Régulièrement, REDJI collabore avec des artistes internationaux de renom comme le français Ernest Pignon Ernest en 2019. Redji est très investi dans la vie communautaire et culturelle.
REDJI (Reginald Sénatus), born in 1994, grew up in a district of downtown Port-au-Prince (Haiti), near the artists and cabinetmakers of the Grand-Rue. In 2010, he joined Atis Rezistans, a community of artists specializing in salvage sculpture.
Since 2011, Redji has participated in several editions of the Ghetto Biennale de Port-au-Prince.
In the 2017 edition, he presented an installation entitled "Cartography of Port-au-Prince" and took stock of the socio-economic difficulties of the population. He won the first prize of the biennial, and also that of 2019 with a new artistic installation entitled "Walls and Doors of Vertières".
Since 2016, he has been attending the Center d'Art d'Haïti and has already participated in several creation and training workshops in artistic techniques led by renowned artists such as Mario BENJAMIN, Frantz Zéphirin, etc.
Regularly, REDJI collaborates with renowned international artists like the French Ernest Pignon Ernest in 2019. Redji is very involved in community and cultural life.
