Denise Schwenck (1983) graduated at Escola de Belas Artes - UFMG in Brazil, where she studied animation and drawing. In 2009 she moved to Prague where she expanded her work across different techniques (embroidery, sculpture and mix media). For the past few years she has returned several times to minimalist ink and pencil drawings.
These small characters living within suggested emotional narratives. The recurring themes of loneliness and isolation propose an uneasy tension against the physical need of proximity to her drawings in order to observe the minuscule characters and details.
