Morellet Rachel
Rachel Morellet est une artiste française née en 1975.
Après une maitrise en histoire de l’art elle se diplôme en restauration d’art moderne et contemporain à l’Ecole Supérieure de Restauration d’Avignon.
Son apprentissage artistique est autodidacte, elle vit et travaille en France et en Italie.
Son travail se décline à travers diverses techniques, photographie, vidéo, dessin, sculpture ou assemblages d'éléments, et une multitude de matériaux, aussi bien naturels qu’artificiels.
Chaque œuvre est rattachée à un moment de son propre parcours biographique qu’elle aime à comparer avec des symboles ou concepts universels, dans une recherche continue du sens caché des choses.
A travers un regard autocritique assaisonné d'ironie, elle cherche un contact, une
complémentarité qui puisse resserrer les distances entre la vision moderne de nos rites et actions quotidiennes, et celle de leurs multiples significations.
En 2013, elle est membre fondateur de l’association culturelle Artforms, qui rejoint Puntocon-Contemporaneo Condiviso, réseau d'espaces alternatifs à Prato (IT). Depuis 2016, elle fait partie du collectif d’artistes FAMA-Four Artists for a Metastable Art.
Son travail a été présenté entre autres auprès de L’ilôt Sauvage, Murmurations, Niort, 2020. La Deviation, PAC Printemps de l’Art Contemporain, Marseille, 2019. Rachel Morellet is a French artist born in 1975.
After a master's degree in art history, she graduated in modern and contemporary art restoration at the Ecole Supérieure de Restauration in Avignon.
Her artistic training is self-taught, she lives and works in France and Italy.
Her work is declined through various techniques, photography, video, drawing, sculpture or assemblages of elements, and a multitude of materials, both natural and artificial.
Each work is linked to a moment in her own biographical journey that she likes to compare with symbols or universal concepts, in a continuous search for the hidden meaning of things.
Through a self-critical gaze seasoned with irony, she seeks a contact, a
complementarity which can narrow the distances between the modern vision of our daily rites and actions, and that of their multiple meanings.
In 2013, she was a founding member of the cultural association Artforms, which joined Puntocon-Contemporaneo Condiviso, a network of alternative spaces in Prato (IT). Since 2016, she has been part of the artist collective FAMA-Four Artists for a Metastable Art.
