Forax Jean–Marc
Jean–Marc Forax, né en 1984, travaille et vit en banlieue
Créateur et organisateur des «soirées dessinées», collectif à l'initiative de plus d'une vingtaine d'évènements éphémères autour du dessin à Paris.
La démarche de Jean-Forax se nourrit de diverses inspirations, du cinéma au dessin classique en passant par l'art vidéo.
L'image se trouve au centre de son questionnement artistique : le rapport entre image fixe et animée est une question essentielle dans sa pratique.
Et au-delà, le rapport de l'image avec la mort, le sacré. Son intérêt pour l'image cinématographique est vaste : il touche aussi bien les classiques de l'art européen que du cinéma japonais, dont il maîtrise la langue. Cela l'a conduit à élargir son approche du sacré.
Jean-Marc Forax est représenté chez Maison contemporain depuis avril 2021.
Jean – Marc Forax, born in 1984, works and lives in the suburbs
Creator and organizer of "comic evenings", collective at the initiative of more than twenty ephemeral events around drawing in Paris.
Jean-Forax's approach draws on various inspirations, from cinema to classical drawing, including video art.
The image is at the center of his artistic questioning: the relationship between still and moving image is an essential question in his practice.
And beyond that, the relationship between the image and death, the sacred. His interest in the cinematographic image is vast: he touches both the classics of European art and Japanese cinema, of which he masters the language. This led him to broaden his approach to the sacred.
Jean-Marc Forax has been represented at Maison Contemporain since April 2021.
