Alexandra Rouard est une artiste française née en 1979 à Paris.
Assistante du directeur d’une galerie prestigieuse à Paris pendant 3 ans, elle se consacre aujourd’hui pleinement à son art et puise son inspiration des forêts de contes de fées, des paysages de son enfance en Ecosse, et les visages de son entourage.
Un moyen d’évasion
Alexandra Rouard se passionne pour le dessin dès sa tendre enfance. Fille unique, elle passe une grande partie de sa jeunesse en Ecosse, chez une grand-mère qui profite alors de sa retraite pour apprendre la peinture à l’huile. Partager ces instants de création avec sa grand-mère fait naître en elle une grande fascination pour ce médium, qu’elle idéalise et respecte immédiatement. Ses parents étant souvent absents, le dessin devient rapidement pour elle, au delà d’une simple occupation, un véritable moment d’évasion.
Une sacralisation du visage
Le thème de prédilection d’Alexandra Rouard est le portrait, peu importe le sujet qu’il représente. L’artiste aime représenter un simple visage. Sans maquillage ou artifice, souvent sans fond ni décor, elle utilise une palette de couleur restreinte de sorte à sacraliser le visage pour qu’il capte toute l’attention de la personne qui le regarde. A travers la simplicité de la mise en scène, les œuvres d’Alexandra Rouard se prêtent à différentes interprétations d’un individu à l’autre et laissent libre court à l’imagination de chacun.

Se consacrant pleinement à son art depuis 2007, Alexandra Rouard multiplie depuis les expositions individuelles et collectives principalement en France mais aussi à l’étranger. Elle a notamment exposé à “Art en Capital” au Grand Palais à plusieurs reprises ainsi qu’aux Etats-Unis en 2015.

Assistant to the director of a prestigious gallery in Paris for 3 years, she now devotes herself fully to her art and draws her inspiration from the forests of fairy tales, the landscapes of her childhood in Scotland, and the faces of her entourage.
A means of escape
Alexandra Rouard has had a passion for drawing since her early childhood. An only child, she spent a large part of her youth in Scotland, with a grandmother who then took advantage of her retirement to learn oil painting. Sharing these moments of creation with her grandmother arouses in her a great fascination for this medium, which she idealizes and immediately respects. Her parents being often absent, drawing quickly becomes for her, beyond a simple occupation, a real moment of escape.
A sacralization of the face
Alexandra Rouard's favorite theme is the portrait, regardless of the subject it represents. The artist likes to represent a simple face. Without make-up or artifice, often without background or decor, she uses a limited color palette so as to sanctify the face so that it captures the full attention of the person looking at it. Through the simplicity of the staging, the works of Alexandra Rouard lend themselves to different interpretations from one individual to another and give free rein to everyone's imagination.
International recognition
Devoting herself fully to her art since 2007, Alexandra Rouard has since multiplied individual and collective exhibitions mainly in France but also abroad. She has notably exhibited at “Art en Capital” at the Grand Palais on several occasions as well as in the United States in 2015.
